Pardada Pardadi Educational Society

Changing the lives of thousands of girls in rural northern India, PPES is a self-developed and self-funded local program. Over 1,300 girls have enrolled with senior classes graduating with top marks. All in one of the poorest regions of the world.

A school in Uttar Pradesh in Northern India, PPES provides 1100 girls a way out of the cycle of poverty, lack of access to education, and low employment prospects. Pardada Pardadi literally means “Great-grandfather / Great-grandmother” as these are the family members who take care of the children traditionally and are revered and respected.

The families of the girls who are accepted into the school make less than US$13 per month (Rs. 600). Thus the US$20 monthly sponsorship goes a long ways towards providing the uniforms, the food, the teachers, and the facilities needed to create the product of these young bright and well-educated young women. They learn to sew their own uniforms, make their own food from the raw materials, etc.

The FHFI vision is to take the phenomenal foundation of success built by the school’s Founder “Sam” Virender Singh, and to help Sam and his great team increase the success of the program through being able to upgrade and expand the facilities for more youth.

Sam has funded much of the costs of the program through his own financial support and some from other organizations. His successes are many.

After 10 years, he has helped girls who have gone on to become nurses, airline stewardesses, and many more professions.

With your help he will get to see many more successes in the years to come. They will be your successes too, if you choose to help.

We chose to offer a 50% sponsorship program for 3 reasons:

1. The US$20 monthly amount is affordable to just about everyone in areas all around the world. And, we expect our sponsors to be from around the world as Human Rights and humanitarian efforts are not unique to any one country or any one society or culture.

2. We also do not want to ever be the sole support for any activity. Each activity should be capable of generating other sources of support to raise the total of what they need. This creates a more sustainable and more self-reliant program.

3. We also never want to support organizations that only focus on sustaining physical life without also providing education as a key factor to break the cycle of poverty. This is the philosophy that teaching someone to fish is more valuable than only giving them a fish to feed them for a day.

Our initial goal is to fund the sponsorship of the current 1,100 girls attending PPES.

That means we need 1,100 people to step up to the plate and help us with just US$20 per month – the cost of one meal or one shoe (not even one pair of shoes in the USA).

Then we will expand the program to other schools as we locate potential partners who share our vision. And, of course, continue to help Sam reach his dream of providing hope to the disadvantaged girls in the second most populated country in the world. One out of every 5 people on the planet lives in India. One out of every 4 people or 25% lives in South Asia. These children are the future and foundation of this society.

Two more exciting points:

1. Some of you have asked about participating at the school itself. Yes, PPES is always interested in having youth (must be minimum 18 years old) volunteers. Volunteers must meet selection criteria. Terms are minimum 6 weeks, 3 months, and up to one year.

2. In 2013 FHFI will be taking a select group of our sponsors on a trip to India to visit the school, see first hand the school, meet the staff and the girls and spend 4 days at the school itself. You will get to see and experience the HEART and soul of a vibrant country. Accommodations will be safe and adequate. More information on this will be in our newsletters.

Think we can make a difference with just US$20 a month? You are very right!

Rock Against Trafficking

Human Trafficking, one of the largest crimes, existing in every country of the world, second only to drugs, goes largely unchecked.

A handful of organizations are hard at work rescuing the children, women and men who have become victims of this scourge.

Over 28,000,000 people, many under 15 and even 10 years old, are in conditions of slavery. This grass roots project, R.A.T. started by rock producer Gary Miller, is going to be THE engine of change. He is the catalyst to bring major artists together to raise money and bring the universal attention and light of truth that is needed to address and stop this inhumanity. But, as with all great causes, we are building this on great ideas which need grassroots, basic funding to take off.

If you want to find out more and even better get involved, then contact us for more information.

Artists involved in this are: GARY MILLER, SLASH, STING, SANTANA, HEART, JOSS STONE, NEAL SCHON & ARNEL PINEDA FROM JOURNEY, JULIAN LENNON, GLENN HUGHES, ANDY FRASER, ENVOGUE, SAM ALIANO and more. Plus a lot of backstage help.

JOIN THE STARS. BE ONE OF US!

At this point we need to build the stage to bring this to 7 Billion people’s attention. If you can help us reach our base level of funding to get the record produced and released, then you will have been a part of one of the most important humanitarian efforts in history! Many of the songs have already been recorded by the artists involved at Gary’s own personal expense. Now, backed by his non-profit foundation, Gary is in the final stages of production on the last songs for the album and will be releasing the record in Spring 2016. This will be the tool to raise worldwide wide awareness and funding to effectively address the problem, with enough resources to create a full solution.

A solution to human trafficking at a global level (and it IS a global problem) must include governments protecting their citizens, legal help, and after rescue, medical help. Education for those who have known nothing but slavery and abuse. And economic resources to empower these same former victims to become entrepreneurs, employees, and participants in raising the standards of society.

A victim, once rescued from their tragedy only remains a victim by their own choices and opportunities. Lack of opportunity whether due to lack of personal health, education, threats, prejudice or other factors are the reasons the victim remains in their condition. A return to health and education can change the person’s choices and thereby their ability to contribute to society. With every donation you contribute to actual lives being saved.

FHFI is working together with R.A.T. to raise US$250,000 to pull all this off  (which includes release event costs, etc.).

Major donors will be acknowledged on the jacket and website of the album release. Contact FHFI directly for interest in major contributions. There is a short term window to help address and handle this situation. This is going International, but it is the starting stage. Help us build it.

The Power of 10 Project

The Power of Ten Humanitarian Project is a simple formula. We came up with this in 2009 and launched it on October 10, 2010 (10-10-2010).

The concept is this. There is a worldwide need for every man, and child on this planet, in every race, creed, color and country to learn:

That they have human rights at all.
 What these human rights are.
How to put these rights into good use.
That on a planet of over 7 Billion people, we also need to make others aware of these rights as well.

This Project starts with you, ONE PERSON. You have 4 steps to help make this program a reality.

STEP 1

Become an FHFI Power of Ten Team Member to take a part in the Human Rights education movement. This is a simple US$10 per year for the STANDARD ANNUAL membership, less than US$1 per month). The POWER MEMBER membership is just US$10 per month and helps support the expansion of FHFI’s global activities. One of the groups we help through our grants from the Power of Ten program is Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) and YHR India. See our Friends of FHFI page for more information on these programs and our other affiliates and what milestones they have accomplished in the field of human rights education.

But wait, there’s more. This is not about a US$10 membership. This is about learning the 30 Human Rights as contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a United Nations document compiled and written in 1948 under Eleanor Roosevelt’s guidance, and about learning how these are beneficial to your success in life and to others.

STEP 2

Once you are an FHFI Power Team Member, learn your 30 Human Rights for yourself by downloading the short, award winning Public Service Announcements (PSAs) from theYouth for Human Rights International (YHRI) webiste, and do our short application drill (released Fall 2012) for each PSA (Public Service Announcement). On completing this, you will receive a downloaded personalized, color, printable certificate recognizing you as a Basic Human Rights Power Team Member.

STEP 3

You get 10 friends or contacts to join the Power Team. As soon as you have 10 new members in your group, you will receive another downloadable, personalized certificate recognizing you as a TEAM LEADER.

STEP 4

This is the final step for you. You now get all your 10 team members to complete STEP 2. If you need to add to your group to get the ten certified Basic Human Rights Power Team Members, then do so. Because at this point you have achieved a new level of recognition: POWER TEAM LEADER. And rightly so. You have started using the POWER OF TEN. Just 9 more levels to go.

You will receive a special certificate AND a medal with a blue ribbon to display or wear proudly around your neck at group meetings. Now encourage each of them to get their group of TEN and you will have helped at least ten and potentially thousands of people to better their lives and the lives of those around them through a better understanding of the 30 Human Rights, their application and relevance to life. The kicker on this is 10 to the 10th power (ten times ten times ten – ten times) gives us 10 Billion members. And there are only 7 Billion people on the planet. This means you are just 10 levels, TEN contacts away from you getting your first team of ten Power Team Members, to getting this into the hands of every man, woman and child IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

Think this will take a long time? Then think again. The numbers escalate rapidly and with contacts around the world this will spiral into the millions in a very short time.

But your help is needed. For US$10 you can change the world. There will be regional and country level awards for the most active and expanding teams. But first you have to get started. Join the POWER TEAM NOW! There will be new releases and updates happening regularly. Sign up for the monthly e-newsletter or as a member. (All members will receive the newsletter).
